Who We Are |
| |
The South Holland Protestant Reformed church was organized in 1926. We
are a congregation which stands upon the tradition of the great Protestant
Reformation of the 16th century. We confess the Reformed Faith which
God in His great mercy restored to His church through men such as Martin
Luther and John Calvin.
The Reformed Faith emphasizes the absolute sovereignty of God over all
of creation and salvation. It is the gospel of salvation by grace alone. We
are committed to the historic Christian faith as summarized in the
Heidelberg Catechism, the Belgic Confession, and the Canons of Dordt.
We believe that these creeds accurately describe the gospel of God as
revealed in the Bible.
Our congregation belongs to the Protestant Reformed Churches (PRC) in
America. The PRC have congregations in the United States & Canada.
God has opened the door for our involvement in mission work in
the United States as well as in the Philippines and Northern
Ireland.
With our sister congregations we maintain a seminary in Grand Rapids,
MI for the training of men for the ministry and for missions. Three full time
professors give a complete course in all the branches of theology.
At the present our churches are enjoying a time of steady growth, lively
activity, and peace. |
